Local and national partners can now submit bids to the Scottish Government's Community Safety Unit for evaluation support across all aspects of community safety work. This work will support evaluation as well as the development of self-evaluation skills and shared learning in the community safety sector, on subjects like violence reduction, policing, sectarianism and hate crime offending, organised crime and road and home safety.
The purpose of this service is to:
- support the community safety sector and key partners in self-evaluation of community safety services and initiatives and to undertake small-scale evaluation projects;
- provide evaluation training and development to the community safety sector and key partners.
There are five expert contractors on the Evaluation Framework, appointed following a procurement exercise. Each of the contractors has been ranked 1 to 5, with 1 being the contractor that scored the highest in the tendering exercise.
The successful contractors, in order of ranking, are:
- Rocket Science
- Research for Real
- Iconic Consulting
- Blake Stevenson
If you wish to take advantage of this support, please contact Michelle Harrity to discuss your idea. You will then be asked to complete a project brief template. Work commissioned under the contact can be for a maximum of 15 days consultancy support.
Once you have completed a project brief template, it will be passed to the highest ranked contactor on the framework. This contactor will then submit a proposal for the work within 5 working days. It is important that your project brief is comprehensively completed as this is what the contractor will base their proposal on.
Each contractor has the opportunity to decline any piece of work, in which case it will be passed onto the next highest ranked approved contractor on the framework, until it is accepted and a proposal developed.
Once the Scottish Government's Community Safety Unit has approved the contractor's proposal, we will let you know that your bid as been accepted and at this point the contractor will liaise with you directly to finalise the proposal and agree a timetable for delivering the work.
